Wordpress MU Beta Test

Hi,

I'm glad to announce the Wordpress MU beta version will be available this week, I would like to invite current and potential InvisionBridge customers to help me find bugs and to give me feedback on this script.

Requirements:

Potential customers only, please remember I can't do this for free so please do not try to get a free script out of a Beta test because I can't continue to support these scripts if you don't buy them, thank you for your honesty I really appreciate it.

Server:

Apache or Windows servers.
PHP 4.x or 5.x Safe Move Off.
MySQL 4.x.

Software:

Wordpress MU Installation on your server.
IPB 2.x Installed on your server.

Other requirements:

Knowledge of basic HTML and basic PHP, copy and pasting will do just fine.
Able to explain in written form a possible problem or "bug".

Please post here if you would like to try the Beta version, I will email you a copy of the beta script.

But are you sure about the price ? 75 USD unsure.gif

Great candidate, but I wouldn't want you taking the risk on installing a beta product on a live website of that size. It would be ideal if you have a mirror copy of the website.

ofcoz the test is gonna be done on my beta site smile.gif

Final call for the MU Alpha test, this version will be mailed out this Firday to all interested parties.

I use IPB with Invision Blog and the Blogging is horrible and lacking in features and I have recently come across WPMU and was looking for an integration plugin for my IPB site.

I would like to try the Beta to help you find any bugs and get them corrected and once the plugin is secure, robust and has the integration I am looking for then I would certainly buy it if the price is right ($75 is a bit steep).

  8. Mccreations Says:

If you still need testers, I can't say I would buy it, but I will test it if need be. I have the latest server software software so I could make sure it all works.

Thank you, what price would you be willing to pay and you think this script is worth?

OH man! I would so love this. If this works out well, I will definitely buy this. Thanks so much for this.

It depends, I need to see the script or know the functionality/integration that it will give before I can say for definite whether I would be willing to pay $75. I just thought that it was a bit high but I could be proven wrong.

It is up to you to set the price at a level to attract sales based on the functionality that the script offers as I would say most people are really not concerned with the effort that you have made but the value for money they are getting.

Simplemente es una integracion de tu Wordpress MU con un foro de IPB, tu decides cuales usuarios de que Wordpress son los que son copiados en IPB.

  14. EJRaven Says:

Alright, a day late but I'm sending the beta now.

  15. Alendar Says:

I would like to help beta test this, also I have a few questions I would like to ask.

  16. Shadow Wolf Says:

If you need another beta tester let me know. There was another integration project like this (I'm not sure if it is the same one) that vanished about a month ago that I was supposed to help beta test for.

WP-IPB is for Wordpress. It is a single blog. It is just one blog installation.

Wordpress-MU is a multi-user blog. It means every user can have their own separate blog. Each person's own blog can be customized to be for them. It is based on Wordpress but allows for multiple blogs, instead of only one blog installation.

I guess I did not make the list then as I do not recall receiving the beta version for testing.

  24. nomisg Says:

I am very keen to test this out and keen to purchase when the bugs are fixed.

Would end up using it for blogging accounts on sports forum I run, http://www.aussiebball.com.

We are ready to test right away. Any time sacle on when a v1 may be ready?

  25. EJRaven Says:

I'm waiting to finish the last bugs or issues with the single WP script to continue working with this one, I'm hoping it will be ready in the next month or so.

    No Worries.

Are you able to advise, if I already had a instance of wordpress mu with its own registration/member base/bloogers. Would I be able to migrate them accross into Invision database with out losing their blogs?

Once the bridge is complated of course :-)

That's a feature I will have to work on, currently the script only works on clean fresh new installations. Again most of the issues with the single Wordpress have already been solved so this project will recieve priority and be updated with the most recent changes and updates the single Wordpress bridge has received, this includes the ability for large databases and as you mentioned, the ability to migrate members and their blogs across.

  28. nomisg Says:

Sorry to hassle, but any update?

Yes, there have been 3 new versions and an official MU release 1.0 is on the way.

    ok, but when? :)
